In patients with a loss of bone density due to osteoporosis, MBST® can activate the metabolism and regeneration of damaged bone cells, and initiate renewal of bone structure. Insufficient or missing stress signals of the bone cells can be activated by MBST® using modulated resonant impulses. As a result cells can be regenerated and cell division can be enhanced. This in turn can result in the production of more bone material and reinforcement of bone structure.
A study by Overbeck et al. has demonstrated the effectiveness of MBST® therapy in the treatment of osteoporosis. A cohort of twenty-seven patients with documented osteoporosis recieved ten treatment sessions of one hour each on ten consecutive days. Bone density was documented both before the treatment course, and at periods six weeks, three months and six months following therapy.
The study demonstrated substantial improvements in not just bone density measurements, but also in frequency and severity of episodes of pain.
